Booker - ADOPTED!

Hey there, my name is Booker. I'm a 12 year old chocolate male weighing in at 60 pounds. I'm a victim of that all too often heard story of my owner moving to a place where they don't allow dogs. I'm still pretty active at my age although I don't mind relaxing in a dog bed or at your feet in whatever room you are in. I like to play fetch and also submerge my body in a kiddy pool. I get along well with other dogs and love kids of all ages. Show me some attention and I will gladly give you kisses in return. I need to be in a home with only one or two steps to the outside as my rear legs can't climb up the way they used to. I am housebroken and haven't made a mess in my foster home. I will gladly go in the crate but my foster family has let me stay out at night and when they leave and I am a goodboy. I sleep downstairs while my foster family is upstairs. I love a soft dog bed, sleep through the night, and don't move until the people come down in the morning to take me out. If you are looking for a buddy who is equally good on leisurely strolls, playing in the yard, and relaxing in the house then I am your guy. If you give me attention (and the occasional treat) I will be your loyal friend, always by your side.

Thanks Brian. I've noted that Booker isn't a good match for you.

Is Booker good with other (younger) dogs? We have a 2 year-old yellow lab (male, 90 lbs.) and a 4 year-old mix (female, 45 lbs.). Thanks.

Booker is great with other dogs. We have two labs of our own, ages 4 & 10, and for two weeks had another foster here (Teddy, 5). Booker and Teddy were best buds. All four would play in the yard and house. Booker has also been to some MLRR events and done well with other foster labs and all other types of dogs that came by.

Thanks. I just submitted our application. It's under Rubin. I know we need a house visit so Booker can meet our dogs (and our kids).

Hi Rubin family. First you will get a home visit. Then, after approval, your family will get to meet dogs. Booker is excited that you are interested. Or maybe he is excited that it is dinner time. You know how labs are.

Update on Booker. He has been walking up the stairs in our house. He is easily doing 14 stairs up and down. If you had been interested in Booker but couldn't adopt him because of stairs in and out of the house now you can look at him again.

Is Booker still looking for a home? We adopted Annabelle through MLRR last Nov and would like to maybe give another dog a loving home for the last few years of their life. We live in a high rise condo with wheelchair accessibility so lot of ramps and alternatives to stairs if that did become a bigger issue.

Booker is looking for his new forever home. Let us know the name on your application and then we can talk more about Booker.
