Jones - ADOPTED!

My name is Jones and I am 1 year old and full of life. I know it is hard to tell from this picture but my teeth are so white that I may be accused of using a whitener. I weigh about 55 lbs so I am light on my feet and a very happy boy. I love walks with 10 year old Misty, who lives here and the neighbors’ one year old yellow lab. We all get along so well. It’s too bad my cat foster brothers, Charlie and Jack can’t come on our walks. They don’t bother me at all except when they get too close to my chewing bones. I love the backyard. I have been a very quiet guest here except when left alone. I get a little upset and whimper and bark but I eventually settle down. I have been lucky that I have not had to stay in a cage since the first night here. I stay in the kitchen with doggy gates and have no interest in other parts of the house while I am in there. There are no kids here but the ones I have met on my walks are not a problem. I am happy to meet them. Jones is a very special black lab mix who would love to find his forever family, but he has been hit with some tough news. Jones needs surgery on both of his hips, specifically called a femoral head excision. His surgery will cost approximately $2,400 - $2,600 per hip. Can you help us help Jones?

We watched Jones while his foster mom was out-of-town...what a darling. He and George (chocolate Lab) were best friends by the end of his stay.

Like the poster above, Christina and I have the pleasure of watching Jones while his foster mom is away... and he is a doll... full of life and energy, a very affectionate boy. I was laying on the couch yesterday morning watching TV, Christina let him in from the back yard and he came barrelling in, full speed, and pounced ontop of me like I was his personal pillow. Just a really sweet dog. We're going to miss him when he leaves! :(

I am Jones foster mom and my heart warmed as I watched him in my backyard tracking a firefly. He was so curious about it. I couldn't help but think about him as he sat at the kill shelter last month. I am so glad MLRR saved him.

Hi Randi and Kevin,
Thanks for checking on Jonesy. He is at the vet today getting an additional evaluation for surgery. I will know more tonight.
He has gained weight since you babysat for him, which I really appreciated and his back legs have gotten so much stronger. He loves running out my back door in the morning to the back of the yard, looking for squirrles.
Thanks for checking on him. Maybe George needs a permanent friend????? ;)

So glad to hear Jones is doing well! He's going to make a GREAT furry addition to a family out there. He was definitely a ray of sunshine when I met him.
