Hi! I’m Angel and my family thinks the name suits me well.
I’m a 12-year-old beauty with the patience of a saint, good with other animals and all ages of human – even two year olds who mistakenly hand me their cookie instead of my greenie, then boldly reach right inside my mouth to take it back when the mistake is noticed… No, it didn’t make me angry, but since I like the occasional piece of home-made shortbread, it made me REALLY sad, and made me realize that I need to chew my food more quickly when little ones are around.
Given that I’m a senior citizen, you’d think I’d be falling apart, but I’m not. I have my issues, but none are really serious: I enjoy walks and naps equally, and I pick out my favorite humans and am incredibly loyal to them. It makes me sad when all my favorites go out, even though they leave my with my less favorite humans (you know the kind – the ones who don’t want to share their cookies or their beds…). When that happens I cry and pace, but don’t worry, you don’t have to kennel me: I’m an honorable woman and do not seek revenge! I’m only 50 pounds which I feel categorizes me as a lap dog. If I can convince you of that, I’ll be in heaven! If not, I’ll snuggle up and keep your feet warm. I’m very empathetic and know who needs my loving care. I do like to be brushed, and my wavy coat is shiny and black. I’m above chewing on shoes, furniture, and children’s toys – too mature, you know - and I haven’t stolen anything off the counter or table – even the shortbread cookies carelessly left within my reach are safe.
There are a few things you should know about me: 1) I’m a front seat kind of lady. I much prefer to see out the front windshield and stick my head out the front side window, so I’d prefer humans sit in the rear. If you insist on putting me in the back, I will breathe down your neck, and will drool down the front seat passenger's back - Don't say you weren't warned! 2) I snore worse than a human – not that I’m criticizing them you understand, but be prepared. There are also a few medical issues which MLRR is handling for me, but by the time you come visit me I should be in great shape.
