Chloe - ADOPTED

I'm a good girl! Thats what my foster mom tells me all the time. I'm 4 months old and weigh about 12lbs. I get along very well with my 11year old foster brother. I also love to play with the kids here and they love me. I love to fetch a toy and lounge around on the big dog bed they have here. I also like squeaky, fuzzy toys too. I'm very curious and need a secure, fenced in yard. I like to explore every corner and need to be watched so I won't get out. I'm not house trained but I'm really working on it. Sometimes I'm having too much fun to stop and go to the door or I get to the door and its too late. I just need some positive praise when I do get it right and I'll have it down in no time. I'm a slow eater and get distracted easily. I'm fed in the corner of the kitchen where its the quietest. My foster mom offers me my food often so I can finish it. I love to be loved and snuggled. I'm really good about being in my crate and I sleep there at night or if my foster mom has to go out. I can last almost 8 hours before I need to go to the bathroom. It would be great if you would make your home my home!

Hello,
Do you think Chloe would be good with younger kids (3 and 5) and cats? If so, we'd love to meet her! Where is she staying?

Thanks,
Sara Sweeney and family

My sister just lost her black lab, also named Chloe, of 14 years. She is interested in getting another and thought it was more then coincidence that there is another Chloe up for adoption. She has asked me to follow up with you to find out what information is needed for her to become an adoptive parent as well as more information about Chloe.

Sara, I think she would be good with small children, but she is a puppy and likes to nip. We give her a toy when she tries to chew on us. We don't have cats so I'm not sure how she would react to them. Have you completed the online application for adoption and had a home visit? This needs to be completed before you can be introduced. Thanks Christine

Gerald, As I said above the adoption application needs to be completed and a home visit done before anyone can be considered to adopt. As for Chloe, she is a great, social little puppy. Shes making strides everyday to becoming house trained. She knows her name when shes called and shes learning to sit when she comes inside to have her paws wiped. She also sits before she gets a treat!

Hi Christine,
Yes, we are approved to adopt! And yeah, I know younger pups will nip, but we are having a bit of trouble finding an older dog who will get along with the younger kids... they just don't know what to make of them and seem nervous. We figure with a puppy, there will be a better chance of her getting along with the kids since she is young too! All will have to be trained anyway... (dog AND kids!) :)

Thanks,

HI Gerald,
Here is our adoption page that talks about policies and has a link to the adoption application: http://www.midwestlabrescue.org/adoption.shtml
After that is filled out, your sister will be contacted for a home visit, which will be set up a few weeks after she turns in her application.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to let me know! Thanks
