Medical Coordinator ~

Upon intake, the MLRR Medical Coordinator is in charge of ensuring MLRR rescue dogs receive Board Approved routine veterinary care at established partner vets prior to anticipated adoption. The ideal candidate loves labs, is organized and able to communicate effectively. Significant veterinary knowledge is not required but the willingness to learn routine veterinary protocols (e.g. puppy shots, HW, kennel cough) for dogs is essential. Placement Coordinator ~

The primary purpose of this role is to match approved adopters with labs available for adoption based on specific characteristics and criteria. The ideal candidate is organized, is detail oriented and possesses excellent communication skills. Estimated commitment is 15-20 hours per month. Learn more about this role here. Volunteer Coordinator ~

Every member of the MLRR team is a volunteer, and we literally could not exist without the endless efforts of each, whether it be to help transport new MLRR dogs, create awareness at Events, foster the dogs we bring into our rescue, or countless other ways volunteers make what we do possible.The primary purpose of the Volunteer Coordinator’s role is to strengthen and grow the MLRR volunteer team through recruitment and communication. The ideal candidate has a positive energy, loves people and social gatherings. Estimated commitment is 10-15 hours per month. Be A Foster Home ~

Every week we receive hundreds of pleas to save Labs in desperate need, but we can’t help them without YOU. Without foster homes, we can’t answer their prayers.

Home Visit Volunteers ~

Do you have a social dog? Then we could really use your help performing home checks. Each family requires a home check before final adoption approval. We're in dire need of volunteers that can do these home checks with their friendly dog to determine if they're a good match to adopt. All home checks are located within the Chicago area and suburbs. Locations, days and times vary, so you can choose the visits that fit within your schedule and that are near you. Estimated commitment is 2 hours per month. Transport Volunteers ~

Got a reliable vehicle? Then we want you! We are in desperate need of volunteers that can provide transportation for our foster labs to vet appointments and events within the Chicago area and suburbs. Locations, days and times vary, so you can choose the trips that fit within your schedule. Volunteer a little or volunteer a lot...it's up to you. Estimated commitment is 2-4 hours per month. Event Volunteers ~

Let's spread the word! That's what events are all about....featuring our available dogs at meet & greets, hosting educational seminars and promoting ways to get involved with our rescue are just a few examples. The ideal person for this position is social and has the flexibility in their schedule to attend events that are primarily on the weekends. Estimated commitment is 2-4 hours per event.
